Executive Team

Meet the Team

Private Air’s management team incorporates a wide range of experience in aircraft management and maintenance, air charter management, commercial aviation and financial operations.

John Tory

John has been in the aviation industry for over ten years, having started his career as a line pilot on a Pilatus PC-12.
John is a customer-focused leader who believes in personal accountability and delivering results to his customers.
He joined the management team of Private Air in 2008, and was named President & CEO in 2013. Under his leadership, Private Air has undertaken an active growth strategy to include commuter aircraft, transport category aircraft and fleet diversification.
John maintains his pilot’s license and keeps active on the Pilatus PC-12.

Steve Davey

Steve brings more than 30 years of aviation experience to the Private Air team, with over 20 years in maintenance management as Executive Vice President & COO/DOM for Levaero Aviation. Steve is a Transport Canada M1/M2/Structures AME, a Transport Canada Minister’s Delegate (MD-M) and a NAAA Certified Senior Aircraft Appraiser. Steve is the Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) for Private Air. His knowledge and diverse range of experiences in the aviation industry are unparalleled.

Robert Arnone

Robert has over 18 years’ experience in the aviation industry and is also President & CEO of parent company Levaero Aviation. He graduated from Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree and later obtained his professional designation of Chartered Accountant. As Chairman of Private Air, Robert is responsible for client relations, strategic planning and business relations.

Shane Murphy

Shane’s lifelong career in aviation began in 1986, when he started training for his private pilot license while still in high school. He attended Selkirk College and obtained a Diploma in Aviation Technology, graduating with distinction. With over 8,000 hours of flying experience and over a decade of executive management experience, Shane joined Private Air’s senior executive team following the acquisition of Algonquin Airline. Shane is responsible for company operations and business development. Shane holds his Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence (ATPL) and is qualified as a Citation jet captain.
